A Brief Pause for Thought

On April 19, 2006, a day before the start of COFES, N'omi Orr, wife of Joel Orr who is a founder of COFES, passed away. It was a huge shock for all of us, although not as bad as the shock for N'omi and Joel's grandkids who attend the event as staff.

I believe everyone connected with the event, myself included, thoroughly respected and in most cases loved N'omi. She was a gentle soul, with a heart of gold. N'omi and I never saw eye-to-eye on political views, but that never affected the warmness of the relationship when together.

Joel sent an email out today that asked everyone to do something good in her remembrance, rather than send flowers. I would like anyone reading this to pause, just for a moment, and work out where we can all do something good in her memory.
