Drive-by Skyping - CAD editor recovers composure
It was with much amusement last week that Randall Newton reported that he had experienced a 'drive-by-skyping' from a 3D Publishing vendor.
Randall is an avid user of Skype (as am I) for both voice and Instant messaging, and he nearly dropped dead when the vendor dropped him a friendly line on the Skype IM to remind him about some important news they had released.
At first he was surprised - very surprised - and then relieved that the company was friendly and not actualy firing anything at him via this fairly personal communication system. He commented that it was a quick hit, painless and fleeting.
Is this where PR communications are headed? Why not? I admire this particular company for utilizing all the tools at their fingertips.
